The exhibition "Digital Alchemy: Rewiring Paradigms", curated by Alfredo Arévalo Rodríguez at the F de Imagen gallery in San José, Costa Rica, proposes a reflection on the new horizons of creativity in the digital era. The exhibition is presented as a space for critical reflection on the role of artificial intelligence in contemporary art, questioning the creative extractivism that has characterized the machine learning mechanisms of large tech corporations and proposing new ways of relating to technology. Through a collaboration with the Exactly.ai platform, the participating artists have explored the creative possibilities of artificial intelligence, creating models from their own images that offer a new perspective on the creative process, where AI appears as the possibility of augmented creativity, instead of its substitution by prompts.
The works presented in "Digital Alchemy: Rewiring Paradigms" reflect a wide range of aesthetic and conceptual approaches, from anime aesthetics to glitch art, and in general seek to trace the latest post-internet quests in their linkage with new technologies and new aesthetic sources. Viewers are immersed in a heterogeneous and thought-provoking artistic universe, invited to reflect on the changing nature of creativity in the digital age.
